A Few Tips on Fishing for Carp
13 September 2009Fishing for carp is a really challenging pasttime as these fish are really smart and don’t take bait too easily. However, with some guile, you can entice the fish and dupe them into biting onto your hook. What follows are just a few tips to assist you when fishing for carp:-
- Bring boilies based on fishmeal in the finer weather (summer and autumn), and dabble with half-half mixtures or bird food types of bait in the finer weather (winter and spring)
- For particile baits, add a lot of salt, particularly the cooked types such as tares, hemp, maize, beans, maple peas and partiblend seeds. The carp enjoy salty food. As a rough guide, mix one tablespoon of salt to 5 litres of dry particles. These are also cost-effective and will save you money on baits!
- Try mixing chillies to particle baits. The carp fish appear to savour that fiery “kick” from those spices. Approximately, mix a couple of tablespoons to five litres particles.
- If possible, make sure not to stick round shaped bait on the hook. Numerous lines feature rounded bait, you want to be different. Experiment with squaring the hook bait using small scissors.
